Chaugan The Chaugan is the heart and hub center
of all activity in Chamba. According to Dr. J.
Hutchison, “ The town is built on two terraces.
Laxmi Narayan Temple Laxmi Narayan Temple, which is
the main temple of Chamba town was built by Sahil Verman
in the 10th century A.D
Champavati Temple This temple is located behind
the City Police Post and Treasury building.
Chamunda Devi Temple
This
temple is located on the spur of the Shah Madar Hill
overlooking the town to its south east. The temple
stands on a raised platform.
Dalhousie :Nestled on the spur at the western
end of Dhauladhar, Dalhousie in its present shape was
founded in 1850’s when the British acquired five hills
from the ruler of the Chamba State for developing the
area as a sanatorium.
Kajjiar :Khajjiar, a tiny tourist resort in
Chamba about 24 kms from Dalhousie; at an altitude of
6,500 ft. above sea level.
